The study underscores the urgent requirement for greater investment to ensure survivors of gender-based violence can access safe and comprehensive support.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the Punjab government allocates between PKR 10 to 15 million per Dar-ul-Aman annually. However, the study recommends that an estimated PKR 2 billion is required to meet quality standards and offer complete services to those seeking help. This discrepancy points to a substantial gap in resources, limiting the province&#8217;s ability to fully address the needs of survivors.<\/p>\n<p>The findings were published in the newly launched Gender-Based Violence Costing Study by UNFPA Pakistan in collaboration with the Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Department, Punjab government. The research was supported by the Foreign, Commonwealth &#038; Development Office under the AWAZ II initiative and carried out by the University of Galway.<\/p>\n<p>According to experts, the study serves as an important step toward strengthening the province\u2019s response to gender-based violence.
