In response, the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Pakistan, has launched a national workshop on the \u201cStrategic Population and Development Framework.\u201d The workshop aims to integrate population trends into national planning, align policy priorities between national and provincial needs, and develop practical strategies.<\/p>\n
Federal Minister for Planning Professor Ahsan Iqbal addressed the opening of the workshop, warning that uncontrolled population growth would intensify pressure on already strained resources such as education, healthcare, food, water, housing, energy, jobs, and infrastructure. He underscored that effectively managing population growth is essential for the country\u2019s survival and long-term prosperity.<\/p>\n
Professor Iqbal added that Pakistan\u2019s large youth population could either become its greatest strength or its biggest challenge. Under the Population and Development Strategic Framework, the government aims to empower youth by providing quality education, decent employment opportunities, and accessible healthcare, enabling every citizen to play a constructive role in the economy and society.<\/p>\n
