The meeting emphasized turning the strong diplomatic ties between the two nations into active collaboration, particularly in the areas of gender development, climate change, and educational and cultural exchanges.<\/p>\n<p>Ambassador Jauhar Saleem, President of IRS, praised the dedication of the Nepali parliamentarians in addressing legislative and governance issues that hinder gender development. He highlighted the potential to strengthen partnership by focusing on gender equality, proposing that existing scholarships for Nepali students in Pakistan be earmarked specifically for women, as a way to encourage women\u2019s empowerment in South Asia.<\/p>\n<p>The head of the Nepali delegation, Ms. Nagina Yadav of the Nepali Congress Party, presented an overview of Nepal\u2019s progress and ongoing challenges in gender development. She expressed keen interest in forming tangible partnerships with Pakistan, citing Pakistani initiatives on women\u2019s empowerment as effective models.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Puja Chaudhary from the Janata Samajbadi Party underscored the value of using the stable relationship between the two countries to establish specialized working groups in business, education, culture, climate, and people-to-people engagement. Other members of the delegation included Sarita Bhusal from the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) and Ms. Gaura Nepali, a prominent advocate for Dalit women\u2019s rights.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives from the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), an international organization committed to gender equality and empowerment, also attended the session. Felix Kolbitz, the FES Country Director in Pakistan, pointed out that both countries are especially vulnerable to climate change, calling it an urgent area for collaboration. Ms. Natalia Figge, the FES Resident Representative in Nepal, encouraged frequent exchanges between Pakistan and Nepal as a powerful way to accelerate joint progress towards gender parity.
