Key measures include the appointment of a new rector, restructuring of the university\u2019s deanship, and the formation of a grievance committee to address workplace issues. These actions are intended to improve transparency and restore institutional integrity.<\/p>\n<p>The Senate\u2019s reform agenda was developed in response to an open letter from USWA highlighting issues with university management. During its recent meeting, the Senate approved several changes designed to promote accountability and ensure lawful operations at the university. The Senate\u2019s decision to address this issue is expected to create a clearer and more effective hierarchy in the university\u2019s administrative framework.<\/p>\n<p>To further support staff and resolve ongoing grievances, the Senate decided to set up a Grievance Committee, to be chaired by the Minister for Science &amp; Technology. This body will review long-standing complaints, including concerns raised by USWA, and is tasked with addressing victimization and unfair practices within the institution.<\/p>\n<p>USWA has welcomed these reforms, expressing gratitude for the leadership provided by the Minister for Science &amp; Technology and the support of Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Science &amp; Technology, Khawaja Sheraz Mehmood. Both officials played key roles in advancing the reform process.<\/p>\n<p>Despite these positive changes, USWA stressed that these measures are only the beginning of a broader effort to improve university governance. The association emphasized the need for continued adherence to the COMSATS University Act, transparent appointment processes, and the implementation of legal safeguards to prevent future misuse of authority.
