Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chairperson highlighted that the Punjab government is taking practical steps to improve maternal and child health through the \u2018Aghosh\u2019 program. She explained that this initiative offers conditional financial support to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers in 13 districts across the province, presenting a modern and transformative model for public health. The program is designed not only to provide medical services but also to ensure women have access to quality nutrition.<\/p>\n
Under the Aghosh program, each registered woman receives a phased payment totaling 23,000 rupees, enabling her to meet essential needs such as antenatal check-ups, safe childbirth, and immunizations. These facilities are being delivered in collaboration with the Department of Primary and Secondary Healthcare at the rural and basic health center level, with the aim of significantly improving maternal and child health indicators.<\/p>\n
