The Government of Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to modernizing the country’s agriculture sector through innovative technologies and private sector investment. Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, held a high-level meeting with a delegation from Corteva Agriscience, a Singapore-based company, to discuss the adoption of hybrid seed technology in Pakistan.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, Corteva representatives presented details about their hybrid seed technology, highlighting its potential to increase agricultural productivity by up to 32 percent. The delegation also outlined the company\u2019s investment plans and ongoing initiatives aimed at improving Pakistan\u2019s agriculture sector.<\/p>\n
Rana Tanveer Hussain emphasized the urgent need for modernization and the adoption of new approaches in agriculture to address challenges related to food security, climate change, and a growing population. He stated that using hybrid seed technology, combined with better farming practices, can significantly raise farmers\u2019 incomes, reduce crop losses, and help achieve national self-sufficiency in food production.<\/p>\n
The Minister assured the delegation that the government is dedicated to fostering an environment that supports agricultural innovation and encourages private sector contributions. He pledged full support from the Ministry of National Food Security and Research to implement new ideas, especially those focused on hybrid seeds.<\/p>\n
