RCCI MoU Boosts Industry Academia Links
Usman Shaukat, president of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National University of Pakistan to deepen collaboration between business and academia. The signing ceremony was attended by RCCI Vice President Fahad Barlas and other chamber members, underscoring the local business community’s interest in stronger ties with higher education.
The RCCI MoU aims to strengthen industry academia linkages and foster joint research initiatives that address practical challenges faced by Pakistani businesses. By formalizing cooperation, both institutions intend to create new pathways for innovation and to build bridges that benefit students, researchers and entrepreneurs across the region.
The agreement places emphasis on creating opportunities for youth and entrepreneurs through collaborative projects, knowledge exchange and support for enterprise development. RCCI says the partnership reflects its commitment to advancing entrepreneurship, promoting innovation and supporting sustainable economic development in Rawalpindi and beyond.
Stakeholders from the chamber and the university will now work to translate the RCCI MoU into concrete activities that enhance skill development, encourage research with commercial potential and open fresh avenues for university graduates to engage with industry partners.
