Ambassador UAE Shafqat Ali Khan To Strengthen Ties

Ambassador-designate Shafqat Ali Khan paid a farewell call on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on October 22, 2025, ahead of his posting to the UAE. The DPM/FM commended Amb. Khan’s contributions as Spokesperson at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, noting his effectiveness in articulating Pakistan’s foreign policy narrative. The discussion reflected the government’s intent to sustain constructive engagement as Khan prepares to take up his role as Ambassador UAE.

Senator Ishaq Dar highlighted the deep and fraternal nature of Pak-UAE relations and urged the Ambassador UAE to leverage his diplomatic experience to further strengthen this strategic partnership. He instructed the Ambassador-designate to prioritise the welfare of the Pakistani diaspora in the UAE, underlining their central role in bilateral ties. Shafqat Ali Khan was encouraged to pursue initiatives that enhance cooperation across diplomatic, economic and people-to-people channels as he transitions to his new assignment.
