Students Strengthen Pakistan Turkiye Exchange
A delegation of 70 high-achieving students from 29 educational boards across Pakistan visited key educational and cultural sites in Turkiye under the Prime Minister’s Initiative for High Achievers, reinforcing the Pakistan Turkiye exchange and youth ties between the two countries.
The group paid their respects at Anitkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and later attended a briefing at the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) to learn about Turkiye’s higher education system and scholarship opportunities. The focus on academic pathways and scholarships underscores the practical benefits of the Pakistan Turkiye exchange for promising Pakistani students.
At the Middle East Technical University (METU) the delegation took part in an interactive session on academic programmes and research opportunities, followed by a visit to the Presidential National Library to explore its modern facilities and digital learning resources. These institutional engagements highlighted potential avenues for collaboration and study for Pakistani scholars.
The students toured the Anitkabir monument and visited Ankara Atatürk Secondary School, where they met Turkish students and shared a communal lunch, strengthening people-to-people connections. The delegation also toured Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) and visited the historic Hacı Bayram Mosque before time for cultural exploration and local shopping.
Organisers said the visit reflects Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s commitment to rewarding merit, expanding educational collaboration with Turkiye and deepening cultural links. The visit adds momentum to ongoing exchanges that strengthen the longstanding friendship and cross-cultural understanding between Pakistan and Turkiye.
