Driving Progress in Jhang Canal Management
The canal management committee formed under the Department of Irrigation met in Jhang with full attendance of its members to review completion of recent irrigation works and next steps for local water infrastructure. The committee discussed the final stages of projects that address long-standing concerns of farmers and landowners in the area.
Deputy Director Aamir of the Department of Irrigation Jhang was thanked for taking personal interest in the projects. Members highlighted his key role in responding to farmers’ demands and ensuring that the works reached completion, noting that his involvement accelerated delivery and helped resolve implementation issues on the ground.
The meeting also expressed gratitude to former educationist Muhammad Bakhsh Khokhar for his supervision and hands-on oversight during the execution phase. Committee members said Khokhar’s guidance was instrumental in maintaining quality and timeliness, and they expressed hope that he will continue to support development initiatives in the region.
Participants reaffirmed that the canal management committee will continue to monitor project outcomes to ensure the intended benefits reach farmers and landowners. Continued coordination with the Department of Irrigation and local stakeholders was described as essential for sustaining progress and improving irrigation services across Jhang.
