QAU and FGRF Launch Tree Plantation Drive
Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Faizan Global Relief Foundation to deepen cooperation on environmental sustainability through a focused tree plantation initiative.
Under the agreement, both institutions will implement a structured tree plantation programme as part of the Green Pakistan Campaign, with FGRF supplying saplings to support campus greening and wider community efforts. The collaboration prioritizes practical steps to restore green cover and engage students and staff in long-term stewardship.
The MoU was formalised by Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar (S.I.), Vice Chancellor of Quaid-i-Azam University, and Haji Waqar-ul-Madina Attari, Executive Member of Faizan Global Relief Foundation. Both parties highlighted the importance of sustained action and coordination for successful tree plantation outcomes.
Faizan Global Relief Foundation is a non-profit active across Pakistan in environmental protection, health, education and disaster relief. Through this partnership, QAU and FGRF aim to raise awareness, provide resources and take tangible steps toward a sustainable environment for future generations, with the tree plantation programme serving as a visible start to broader conservation efforts.
