Youth Empowered by Social Entrepreneurship Incubator

Denmark, working with UNODC Pakistan and the University of Narowal, has inaugurated a new National Incubation Centre for Social Entrepreneurship in Narowal to support young changemakers across the region. The centre was opened jointly by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, Ambassador H.E. Maja Derrous Mortensen of Denmark and UNODC Pakistan Country Representative Mr. Troels Vester, signalling a strengthened partnership to back youth-led solutions.

The incubation hub will offer practical training, mentorship and dedicated workspace so that students and young entrepreneurs can turn ideas into viable projects. By focusing on social entrepreneurship, the centre aims to channel local talent towards initiatives that address community needs while creating sustainable livelihoods.

Programmes will emphasise areas with strong local relevance, including climate-smart agriculture, renewable energy, cultural tourism and digital services, giving youth the tools to innovate in sectors that matter for Narowal and neighbouring districts. The centre’s mix of skills-development and hands-on support is designed to accelerate pilot projects into community-ready solutions.

University of Narowal students welcomed the delegation and played a central role in the inauguration, reflecting a vibrant campus spirit and community support for entrepreneurial activity. The collaboration between the Embassy of Denmark in Pakistan, UNODC and the university underlines a shared commitment to empower young Pakistanis to lead change at home.

With targeted mentorship and practical facilities, the National Incubation Centre for Social Entrepreneurship aims to create a pipeline of purpose-driven ventures that strengthen local economies and offer scalable models for other regions in Pakistan.
