Taking Action for Islamabad Victims
Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi, focal person for the Prime Minister Youth Program, affirmed continued advocacy for the rights and justice of Islamabad victims following a meeting with leaders of the Islamabad Victims Alliance committee. He said the effort will focus on protecting affected families, raising their concerns across forums, and pursuing practical steps to secure remedies.
The Islamabad victims committee, represented by figures including Malik Mehrban, Kashif Qureshi, Malik Jamshed, Malik Safeer, Nasser Shah, Azeer Khan, Basharat Khan, Malik Ghulam Dastgir, Adnan Shah, Malik Ghulam Hussain, Zulfiqar Ali, Umair Khan and Malik Zubair Advocate, discussed the core issues facing those impacted. Particular attention was paid to matters arising from the disputed 2008 Google/Sparco survey and its local implications.
Participants reached a unanimous position rejecting the 2008 Google Sparco survey and expressed full support for the Islamabad victims stance. Zeeshan Ali Naqvi pledged to stand with the victims and to coordinate meetings with the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority and other relevant officials to press their case.
Naqvi also said he will use the channel of Prime Minister Adviser Dr. Tauqeer Shah to ensure the Islamabad victims voice is conveyed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He emphasized sustained engagement until affected families receive due protection and justice.
The meeting underlined a commitment to follow up on administrative meetings and advocacy efforts, with the Prime Minister Youth Program offering to help facilitate dialogues between victims and government authorities as the next step in addressing the land survey dispute and related grievances.
