Students Rally for Kashmir Solidarity

Muslim Students Organization Rawalpindi gathered students, youth and citizens for a large rally under the banner Azm-e-Azadi on Kashmir Solidarity Day to express practical Kashmir solidarity and support for the Kashmiri people.

Participants carried banners and placards calling for Kashmir freedom, paying tribute to Kashmiri martyrs and condemning reported Indian abuses. The demonstration remained peaceful as speakers urged the international community to take notice of alleged ongoing oppression in occupied Kashmir.

Speakers described Kashmir as more than a territory, calling it a living issue of the Muslim community that has faced state terrorism for decades. They said innocent children, women and the elderly have been targeted while human rights bodies and sections of the international community remain silent.

Reference was made to the changes imposed after 5 August 2019, which speakers said deepened the crisis by attempting to erase Kashmiri identity and restrict basic freedoms. They reiterated that the Kashmiri right to self-determination is affirmed by UN resolutions and cannot be suppressed.

Tributes were paid to the fallen and organizers reaffirmed that Pakistan’s students and youth will stand with Kashmiris in their struggle for rights and dignity. MSO Rawalpindi pledged to continue raising awareness about Kashmir on every forum and to mobilize young people around the cause.

The rally highlighted enduring public solidarity with Kashmir and called for sustained international attention to protect human rights and restore the political rights of the Kashmiri people.
