Students Visit Parliament House Islamabad

On 10 February 2026 a 12-member delegation of students enrolled at a foundation for the care of persons with special needs undertook a study visit to Parliament House Islamabad as part of their civic learning activities. The Parliament House visit offered the group a practical introduction to Pakistan’s legislative institutions.

Senate Secretariat officials welcomed the delegation on arrival and escorted the students through the Senate Museum, where they received detailed briefings on Pakistan’s parliamentary history, the formation of the constitution, and the various stages involved in lawmaking. The visitors also explored the Galli Dastoor exhibit, which highlights key constitutional milestones and democratic practices.

The delegation later entered the Senate Hall and attended a comprehensive session on parliamentary procedures, the role of the Senate, the process of drafting and passing legislation, and the functions of standing committees. The briefings were tailored to give the students clear insight into how representative institutions operate and how policies move from idea to law.

Participants expressed deep interest in parliamentary work and described the Parliament House visit as highly informative and useful. They praised the Senate Secretariat for its arrangements and said the experience strengthened their understanding of democratic processes and civic participation in Islamabad and beyond.
