Minister Urges Religious Education Nationwide

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf emphasized that obtaining religious education is the duty of every Muslim man and woman according to their responsibilities while speaking at a joint award ceremony in Islamabad. The event brought together Madrasah Mahd al-Qur’an, Madrasah Syedna Umar Farooq E-12/3 and Jamia Islamia Madina Madani Masjid I-9/4 to recognise student achievement and support religious learning across the capital.

The minister said Pakistan has been granted a unique role by Allah to promote Islam globally and recalled that the nation’s independence was secured through the sacrifices of earlier generations. He praised Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, noting that as a Hafiz of the Quran he has gained respect at home and abroad and is playing a vital role in the security of Pakistan and the safeguarding of Islamic values.

Sardar Muhammad Yousuf strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Imambargah Mosque in Islamabad, saying the killing of a human is the killing of humanity and that terrorists have no religion. He described the assault as a heinous conspiracy aimed at undermining communal harmony and reiterated that Islam plays an important role in character building and social cohesion.

At the ceremony the minister presented certificates and prizes to 34 qualified position holders from three examinations, highlighting the importance of accessible religious education for youth. Senior Journalist Pervez Iqbal Mughal, Professor Dr. Pir Mufti Muhammad Saifullah Adil Qadri, Maulana Muhammad Abu Bakr Hameed Sabri and other community leaders were honoured for their efforts to promote religious harmony. A special prayer was offered for stability and peace in the country.
