Humnava Launches Hairan Amanam From Hunza
Humnava has released the first song from Season 1, presenting a live-recorded single born in the Hunza Valley that blends local language and global collaboration. The project, co-founded by Xulfi and Muhammad Ibrahim, was curated as an immersive music camp where musicians lived, wrote and recorded together to create a distinct artistic record rooted in Pakistan.
The season gathered more than 30 musicians and collaborators from across Pakistan and abroad, including contributors from France, Germany, Algeria and Zambia alongside artists from Hunza and other Pakistani cities. That co-creative environment was intended to position Pakistan as a living hub for artistic exchange, cultural diplomacy and a new creative economy led by independent artists.
Hairan Amanam is sung in Burushaski and translates as I am in awe. The track features the young Hunza duo Rizwan Abbas and Maheen Sattar and was produced and musically led by Xulfi. International contributors include Bakrin Timlfati, Amine Laroug and Dorian Jonas Goetsh, and the arrangement combines rubabs, acoustic and electric guitars, flutes and a synth-driven beat to create a sound that resonates across the Pamir region.
The song was written by Zulfiqar Ali Khan Bercha and composed by Xulfi, Zulfiqar Ali Khan Bercha and Fahim Uddin Hunzai, with arrangements by Xulfi and Sherry Khattak. The video was directed by Aamir Mughal with post-production by Mehroz Raza, production design by Hashim Al and Sahra Bohra and styling by Wajeeha Badar.
Humnava Season 1 will continue to unfold with tracks Noor-e-Nazar, Qataghani, Holoyor, Sway, Lost in Love, Koi Achi Khabar, Isketa and Darmaan, each reflecting the project’s aim to dissolve boundaries and celebrate shared humanity through sound. The release of Hairan Amanam signals Humnava’s wider intention to connect artists globally while highlighting Pakistan’s cultural landscapes.
Hairan Amanam is now available to watch on television and YouTube and to stream on Spotify and other broadcast platforms. Audiences in Pakistan and beyond are encouraged to experience the Humnava collaboration and follow further Season 1 releases as the project continues to showcase cross-border creativity from Hunza.
