Advancing Joint Trade Committee Talks

A productive preparatory meeting was held with Mr. Robert Ng’ong’a, Head of Bilateral, International Trade Directorate, Mr. Boru D. Roba of the Asia Division and Ms. Fatuma Bonaya, all from the State Department of Trade, Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry, ahead of the 2nd session of the Joint Trade Committee in Islamabad on 19 and 20 May 2026.

Participants discussed the Joint Trade Committee agenda in depth, aligning priorities and timelines while identifying the current status of pending MoUs between state agencies of the two governments to ensure focused progress during the Islamabad session.

The Pakistani High Commission confirmed visa facilitation for the visiting delegates, a logistical measure intended to smooth participation and support timely attendance for the Joint Trade Committee meetings.

Delegates were wished a pleasant stay in Pakistan and expressed readiness for a successful Joint Trade Committee meeting that aims to advance bilateral cooperation, finalise outstanding agreements and strengthen institutional ties between the two countries.
