Khalid Maqbool calls for putting national interest above politics
Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said that Pakistan’s value, dignity and prestige in the Muslim world and among the comity of nations today are due to the Armed Forces of Pakistan.
Paying tribute to the defenders of the country, he said those who sacrifice their lives for the protection of Pakistan’s borders are a source of pride for the nation. Living nations, he added, regard those who lay down their lives as benefactors of the country.
Dr Siddiqui said the nation’s martyrs and ghazis are the guarantors of Pakistan’s freedom. At this important turning point in history, he said, raising questions over the services of these fighters would be a grave injustice to the country and the nation.
The federal minister urged all political interests to be kept subordinate to the national interest. He also called for avoiding such language that could hurt the morale of soldiers or the sentiments of the families of martyrs.
