Rawalpindi board chairman reviews Jhelum marking centre arrangements
RAWALPINDI: In line with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision for a quality, transparent and modern examination system, Chairman Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi Prof Dr Iqbal Mahmood paid a detailed visit to the marking centre set up at Government Graduate College, GT Road, Jhelum, for the Intermediate First Annual Examination 2026.
According to a press release issued by the Public Relations Office of the Rawalpindi education board on July 31, the chairman inspected the process of checking examination papers, the standard of assessment, administrative discipline and overall arrangements at the centre. The college principal briefed him on the marking arrangements.
During interaction with the marking staff, Prof Dr Iqbal Mahmood directed that every examination paper must be assessed with complete honesty, impartiality and according to a uniform standard so that each candidate receives results reflecting his or her actual academic ability and performance.
He said the credibility of the examination system, public trust and the good name of the institution were linked to quality and fair assessment. He made it clear that any negligence, bias or deviation from rules and regulations would not be tolerated.
The board chairman further instructed all examiners to strictly follow the board-approved marking scheme, rules and regulations and professional principles while performing their duties with responsibility, care and integrity.
Prof Dr Iqbal Mahmood reaffirmed that the Rawalpindi education board would continue its efforts to strengthen the credibility of results and public confidence by ensuring quality, accountability, transparency and protection of the legitimate rights of candidates at every stage of the examination system.
