Atif Ikram, Mishal Malik discuss peace, culture and economic ties
FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh held a meeting with Chairperson Peace and Culture Organization Mishal Malik, during which matters relating to regional peace, cultural activities and the promotion of economic linkages came under discussion.
Mishal Hussain Malik congratulated Atif Ikram Sheikh on his nomination for Tamgha-e-Imtiaz and appreciated his social and welfare services for the business community and the public.
The meeting also highlighted the role of culture, art and soft power in advancing peace. Mishal Hussain Malik said cultural awareness was an effective means of promoting understanding of human rights and peace at the global level.
Speaking on the occasion, FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh stressed the importance of the business community’s role in regional peace and stability. He said joint initiatives were necessary to promote peace, culture and economic activities in Pakistan.
Atif Ikram Sheikh maintained that regional stability was of fundamental importance for trade, investment and economic development. He said culture and soft power could play an important role in projecting Pakistan’s positive identity.
He further said that by promoting peace and cultural linkages, new opportunities for economic cooperation could be created in the region. The business community, he added, was playing its part not only for economic progress but also for peace and social welfare.
The FPCCI president said sustainable peace in the region would pave the way for trade, investment and economic prosperity. He assured that FPCCI would support every positive effort aimed at promoting peace, culture and economic connections.
Atif Ikram Sheikh said regional peace was indispensable for sustainable economic development and that the business community would continue supporting social and peaceful objectives.
FPCCI Vice President Tariq Khan Jadoon and Capital Office In-charge Kareem Aziz Malik were also present during the meeting.
