Rindhawa Calls for Independent Inquiry into PIMS Incident

ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami Islamabad Ameer Engineer Nasrullah Rindhawa has expressed deep sorrow and concern over the tragic incident at PIMS Hospital and demanded a transparent and impartial investigation by the government.

Nasrullah Rindhawa visited PIMS Hospital along with Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Naib Ameer Liaqat Baloch, where they offered condolences to the affected people and their families. They also sought details of the incident from the hospital administration.

Speaking on the occasion, Rindhawa said that such an incident at a major public sector hospital like PIMS was deeply alarming. He said providing treatment and protection to citizens was a basic responsibility of the state, but precious human lives had been lost due to weak administrative capacity and mismanagement in government institutions.

He said the matter could not be closed by simply describing it as an accident. It was necessary to determine the real causes of the incident, identify where administrative lapses occurred, and establish why rescue and fire brigade teams could not arrive in time.

The Jamaat-e-Islami Islamabad chief demanded a high-level and impartial inquiry into the incident. He said those responsible should be identified and proceeded against in accordance with the law, while effective measures must be taken to prevent such incidents in future.

Rindhawa said the government made tall claims about good governance and provision of the best facilities to the people, but the situation at PIMS had exposed those claims. He urged the government to move beyond statements and meetings, take practical steps, and answer the public.

Expressing heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the affected families, he said Jamaat-e-Islami stood with them in this hour of grief and would continue to raise its voice until action was taken against those responsible for the incident.
