Egyptian Qaris accorded welcome by Religious Affairs Minister
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf on Wednesday welcomed renowned Egyptian Qaris on their arrival in Pakistan.
The Qaris visiting Pakistan from Egypt include Qari Ayub Asif, Qari Taha Nomani, Qari Ibrahim Asif, Qari Maher Al-Shennawi and Qari Ismail Asif.
Expressing pleasure over the arrival of the distinguished guests, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said the people of Pakistan had deep love and reverence for the Holy Quran, its reciters and those who serve the Quran.
He said Pakistan warmly welcomed the respected guests to their “second home”. The minister added that the arrival of internationally known Qaris from Egypt was a matter of happiness and honour for the people of Pakistan.
Sardar Muhammad Yousaf prayed that Allah Almighty bless their visit to Pakistan, enable the people of Pakistan to benefit from their beautiful and soul-stirring recitations, and make the grand gathering a source of promoting the message of the Holy Quran, love and Islamic brotherhood.
Earlier, the minister and participants had the honour of listening to the recitation of the Holy Quran by the visiting Qaris during a meeting held in the committee room of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
All the Egyptian Qaris will take part in a grand public Mehfil-e-Husn-e-Qirat at Faisal Mosque, Islamabad, on September 5, 2026, after Asr prayers. The special programme, featuring spiritually uplifting recitation of the Holy Quran, is being arranged for the general public.
The event was attended by Joint Secretary Dawah and Ziarat, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Shehbaz Mustafa; Director Quran, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Dr Shahid ur Rehman Marth; Deputy Director Seerat Mufti Muhammad Khaleeq; Advocate Rafique Shah from Jamia Banoria; Professor Sajjad Qamar; Qari Mehboob ur Rehman; Sahibzada Professor Qari Muhammad Mushtaq Anwar; Chairman Saut-ul-Quran Academy Pakistan, Joharabad, Qari Muhammad Zeeshan Haider; Chairman Quran Academy Islamabad; prominent Naat Khawan Syed Zeeshan Bukhari; Mufti Jameel ur Rehman Farooqi; Mufti Abrar, Islamabad; and others.
