Government Condemns Deer Killing in Margalla Hills

Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Dr. Musadik Malik has condemned the recent killing of a deer in Islamabad’s Margalla Hills, a protected wildlife area, and has immediately ordered a thorough inquiry into the incident.
The Minister’s action comes after a disturbing video surfaced on social media showing the deer being hunted down within the Margalla Hills area, raising serious concerns about illegal wildlife hunting in protected zones. The video has triggered widespread outrage among citizens and environmental activists, prompting prompt government intervention.
Expressing strong disapproval, Dr. Malik emphasized that such violations of wildlife regulations constitute acts of cruelty and blatant disregard for Pakistan’s environmental conservation laws. He stated unequivocally that the government maintains zero tolerance towards criminal activities targeting wildlife and protected habitats.
In response to the incident, Dr. Malik has instructed the relevant authorities to expedite the inquiry process and submit a comprehensive report as soon as possible. Reiterating the government’s commitment to conservation, the Minister made clear that those responsible will be held fully accountable for their actions according to the law.
