**Health Minister Reviews Progress on PIMS Hospital’s New Emergency Department**

Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal chaired a progress review meeting on the construction of the new emergency department at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad. The session focused on expediting the completion of the 200-bed emergency facility to ensure timely, high-quality emergency healthcare for the public.

The meeting was attended by Federal Secretary Health Syed Waqar-ul-Hassan, PIMS Executive Director, and representatives from IDAP (Infrastructure Development Authority). During the session, officials provided the Health Minister with a detailed briefing regarding the current status of construction, the challenges being faced, and measures being undertaken to address these issues.

Discussions covered the pace of construction work, the quality standards being maintained, and strategies to ensure the project is completed within the set deadlines. Minister Mustafa Kamal emphasized that the deadline for delivering modern, efficient emergency services to the public must be strictly adhered to.

To speed up operationalization, the Minister directed that a pre-emptive PC-4 (Project Completion) form should be prepared promptly, enabling all administrative and financial processes to proceed without delays.

The new emergency department is a Rs 6.5 billion project. Minister Kamal directed all officials to take the necessary steps to ensure the facility becomes functional as soon as possible, reaffirming the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and services for the citizens.
