Australia and Pakistan Deepen Human Rights Partnership

The Australian High Commissioner, Mr. Neil Hawkins, and Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Human Rights, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, have reiterated their shared commitment to strengthening cooperation in the promotion and protection of human rights. The meeting, which also included Secretary of Human Rights Mr. Abdul Khalique Shaikh, emphasized ongoing collaborative efforts between the two countries in advancing values such as inclusion, equality, and human dignity.
During the discussion, both sides expressed the importance of deepening bilateral engagement to address human rights challenges and to further common interests in safeguarding fundamental freedoms. The participants highlighted previous positive initiatives as a foundation for continued dialogue and joint programs.
The exchange reaffirmed both Australia and Pakistan’s dedication to supporting inclusive and equitable policies, underscoring their mutual resolve to protect vulnerable groups and promote social justice. The officials agreed to explore new avenues for partnership in addressing evolving human rights concerns, reflecting the two countries’ enduring commitment to upholding universal human rights principles.
