Understanding the Protection Against Harassment of Women at Work

Many employees remain unaware of their rights and safeguards under the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act 2010, according to a recent session organized by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). The awareness session aimed to educate staff on the scope of the law, the complaint process, and the legal responsibilities employers must fulfill.

Led by Mr. Waqar Ahmed and Ms. Ayesha Zeb Khan, the session offered detailed explanations of the Act’s key provisions. Participants learned about the types of workplace harassment covered by the law and the steps individuals can take to seek redress. The session also outlined the mechanisms organizations are required to establish, including complaint committees and anti-harassment policies.

The initiative was open to both in-person and remote participants, ensuring broader access to this critical information. PTA officials emphasized the importance of fostering safe and respectful workplaces and encouraged employees to utilize available resources should they face any instances of harassment.
