Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Visit to Gilgit Baltistan

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Gilgit for a one-day visit to oversee relief efforts and meet with local officials and residents affected by recent heavy rains and floods in the region.

Upon his arrival in Gilgit, the Prime Minister was welcomed by Gilgit-Baltistan Governor Syed Mehdi Shah and Chief Minister Gulbar Khan. Accompanying the Prime Minister are Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam, Federal Minister for Climate Change Dr. Musaddiq Malik, Advisor to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah, and the Prime Minister’s Coordinator Shabbir Usmani.

During his visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will meet with those affected by the recent floods, distributing relief funds to help support recovery efforts. He will also receive a detailed briefing on the damage caused by the rains and floods in Gilgit-Baltistan, and will hold meetings with the Governor and Chief Minister to discuss the region’s needs and the government’s response to the crisis.
