Pakistan Leads with National AI Policy and Tech Initiatives

Pakistan is taking significant steps to become a global technology leader by unveiling a comprehensive National Artificial Intelligence Policy and launching a series of initiatives in emerging technologies. The government, led by the Ministry of IT and Telecom, is focused on creating a future-ready digital ecosystem to boost the country’s economic and technological development.
Central to this strategy is the National Artificial Intelligence Policy 2025, which outlines a roadmap for integrating AI across various sectors. The government is making strategic investments in cutting-edge areas such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, the Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity, cloud computing, and 5G networks. These efforts are designed to accelerate Pakistan’s evolution into a knowledge-based economy.
Key projects include the National AI Advancement Initiative, which aims to foster the skills and expertise of one million AI professionals by 2030. The initiative is supported by Ignite, a government organization responsible for funding research and development, supporting startups, and establishing innovation hubs. These activities are carried out in collaboration with public and private sector partners to ensure sustainable growth and innovation.
Through these initiatives, Pakistan is not only embracing new technologies but also contributing to their global advancement, positioning itself as a proactive player in the future of technology.
