HSA and LUMS Partnership Driving Digital Health in Pakistan

Health Services Academy (HSA) Islamabad and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) have signed a strategic partnership to drive digital health innovation in Pakistan. The collaboration aims to transform healthcare delivery across the country by combining the strengths of both institutions in public health and technology.

Through a Memorandum of Understanding, HSA and LUMS will jointly develop and implement educational programs, research projects, and practical solutions designed to address Pakistan’s most pressing public health challenges. The focus of these efforts includes advancing digital tools to improve healthcare services, promoting training in digital health and health informatics, and encouraging data-driven policies for better patient outcomes.

Professor Dr. Shahzad Ali Khan, Vice Chancellor of HSA, stated that digital health is essential for the future of medicine, particularly in countries with limited resources. He emphasized that the collaboration provides an opportunity to integrate academic expertise with innovative technologies, ultimately making healthcare more accessible, efficient, and high-quality for people across Pakistan. Both institutions plan to co-create digital systems to empower healthcare professionals and strengthen the country’s ability to make informed decisions based on accurate health data.

The partnership is expected to accelerate the digital transformation of Pakistan’s healthcare sector. By leveraging HSA’s experience in medical education and public health together with LUMS’s leadership in technology, management, and innovation, the agreement aims to produce sustainable digital health solutions for patient care, workforce training, interdisciplinary research, and academic exchange. The ultimate goal is to deliver smarter, faster, and more equitable healthcare outcomes nationwide.
