Pakistan Health Strengthens Saudi Collaboration
Syed Mustafa Kamal, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Health, met with Saudi Health Minister Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel in Cairo on the sidelines of the World Health Organization’s 72nd regional meeting. The discussion focused on practical steps to deepen cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in the health sector and to share experience in implementing reforms.
The two ministers explored avenues for exchanging technical expertise, launching joint research projects and encouraging increased Saudi investment in Pakistan’s pharmaceutical industry. They emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts to support vaccination programs and broader public health initiatives, reflecting Pakistan’s recent momentum in health reforms and immunization coverage.
Saudi Minister Al-Jalajel praised Pakistan’s role in global health policy discussions and expressed commitment to expand collaboration. Both sides agreed to pursue concrete follow up measures to translate dialogue into partnerships that boost research capacity, attract pharma investment and strengthen health services for patients in Pakistan and the region.
