Anticorruption Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Crackdown on Swat River NOC Inquiries

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Anti-Corruption Department has launched a comprehensive inquiry into the issuance of no-objection certificates (NOCs) and ongoing construction along the banks of rivers in Swat and other regions. Authorities have pledged strict action against all individuals found responsible for violations related to riverbank development.

According to officials, the inquiry will scrutinize the process of granting NOCs for construction activities adjacent to riverbanks, focusing on compliance with the River Protection Act. Any construction or encroachment found within prohibited zones will be investigated thoroughly, and those involved will face severe penalties.

The department emphasized that strict measures will be taken against anyone implicated in facilitating unauthorized development or encroachments. In addition, if any evidence of collusion by the district administration in failing to remove illegal structures along the riverbanks is found, the responsible officials will also be subject to stringent action.

This move aims to safeguard riverbanks from unlawful development and uphold environmental protections in the region. The Anti-Corruption Department has reiterated its commitment to ensuring accountability and enforcing river protection laws without exception.
