Pakistan and China Discuss Collaboration in TVET Sector

Ms. Gulmina Bilal Ahmad, Chairperson of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), held a meeting with Mr. Yang Yundong, the Chinese Consul General in Karachi, to discuss avenues for future collaboration in Pakistan’s technical and vocational education and training (TVET) sector. The main focus of the discussion was on advancing skills development, expanding technical training, and enhancing workforce capacity building in Pakistan.

During the meeting, both leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between Pakistan and China in the field of vocational education. They explored opportunities for cooperative programs that would help improve the quality of technical training and create a more skilled workforce aligned with market needs. Such collaboration is expected to support Pakistan’s economic development by equipping its youth with practical skills and opening up new employment opportunities.

The deliberations also covered ways to benefit from China’s experience and expertise in technical education. Both sides expressed a shared commitment to fostering long-term partnerships that will contribute to the growth of the TVET sector and support sustainable development goals in Pakistan.
