Advancing Bajaur Project Health and Resilience
A progress review meeting in Bajaur brought together Pakistan Red Crescent Society and the Norwegian Red Cross to assess the ECHO-funded Bajaur project that supports vulnerable communities facing conflict, displacement and flooding.
Management and key representatives took part in detailed discussions, including Mr. Muhammad Abaid Ullah Khan, Secretary General PRCS, Mr. Saeed Kamal, Secretary PRCS Merged Areas, and Ms. Radhika Fernando, Operations Manager Asia at the Norwegian Red Cross Regional Office in Kuala Lumpur. Officers from the PRCS National Headquarters, PRCS Merged Areas branch and the Norwegian Red Cross office in Pakistan also joined the meeting to review progress and priorities.
The Bajaur project provides lifesaving health services, WASH support and cash assistance for families affected by ongoing humanitarian pressures. Participants reviewed service delivery, identified operational challenges on the ground and agreed on measures to improve access and responsiveness for the most vulnerable households.
Representatives emphasized coordinated action with donors and partners, including EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid and the European Union in Pakistan, to sustain and scale assistance. Pakistan Red Crescent reiterated its commitment to strengthen resilience in merged areas through continued collaboration with stakeholders and targeted support under the ECHO-funded Bajaur project.
