How Frontline Workers Deliver Lifesaving Vaccines in Pakistan

WHOPakistan, in collaboration with Gavi and the Government of Pakistan, visited a rural health centre and a health house in Terlai, Islamabad, to observe frontline healthcare workers in action. The visit, which included Gavi CEO Dr. Sania Nishtar, highlighted efforts to protect children from preventable diseases through critical vaccination programs.
During the visit, the delegation interacted with healthcare staff and observed immunization procedures. The initiative underscores the important role that partnerships between international organizations and national authorities play in strengthening healthcare delivery in underserved communities.
The partnership aims to improve vaccination rates among children and reduce the prevalence of life-threatening diseases. By supporting local health workers and facilities, the organizations hope to ensure wider access to life-saving vaccines across Pakistan. The collaboration also focuses on raising awareness among the public about the importance of immunization and the safety of vaccines.
The visit reaffirms the commitment of WHOPakistan, Gavi, and the Government of Pakistan to protecting children’s health, especially in rural and hard-to-reach areas, and emphasizes the crucial impact of vaccines in saving lives.
