Breaking Barriers Pakistan China Fashion Show

The Pakistan Embassy in Beijing, in collaboration with the China International Cultural Communication Center (CICCC), staged the maiden Pakistan China fashion show at the Badaling Great Wall today, presenting a deliberate fusion of Pakistani and Chinese aesthetics. Pakistani designers Maheen Khan, Moazzam Abbasi, Ayesha Tariq, Rizwaullah and Zain Hashmi showcased collections created specifically to bridge the two traditions, while China-based Pakistani designer Aqeel Chaudhary presented a focused jewellery collection. The programme also included work by acclaimed Chinese designer Ms. Liang Suyun and was curated by Mr. Adnan Ansari of Riwayat, drawing senior Chinese officials, media, business leaders and members of the diplomatic corps.

Ambassador Khalil Hashmi said the Badaling Great Wall offered a fitting stage to celebrate the living spirit of the Silk Road through contemporary design, noting the event’s special timing on the 60th anniversary of the first Pakistani dignitary’s visit to the Great Wall. He underlined that the showcase was driven by fusion and commercial sense, and that Pakistan China fashion demonstrates the natural synergy between Pakistani creativity and the Chinese market to build new commercial bridges for a shared future.

Mr. Long Yuxiang, Chairman of the China International Cultural Communication Center, described the show as a vivid reflection of the China-Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership in cultural and people-to-people exchanges. He highlighted a shared historical heritage and a mutual pursuit of better lives through fashion aesthetics, pledging to explore the contemporary value of traditional aesthetics with Pakistani partners and to create more characteristic works that inject new vitality into Pakistan China fashion aesthetics.

Held at Badaling, the most renowned section of the Great Wall, the event combined creative storytelling with commercial intent and offered Pakistani designers a prominent platform to engage the Chinese market. The showcase underlined how Pakistan China fashion can serve both cultural exchange and trade opportunities, reinforcing ties between designers, curators and buyers from two long-connected societies.
