Advancing Social Protection with Interprovincial Exchange

A delegation from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa took part in an exposure visit to the Punjab Social Protection Authority to learn about practical measures for improving social protection and support for vulnerable communities.

Officials from the Punjab Social Protection Authority outlined inclusive programming that targets low-income families, persons with disabilities, elderly citizens and other marginalized groups, and highlighted flagship initiatives including the Punjab Ehsaas Programme. The briefing emphasized how data analytics and digital platforms are being used to streamline access and increase transparency in service delivery.

The delegation engaged with PSPA staff on policy design priorities that stress equity, innovation and accountability. Conversations focused on opportunities for collaboration, methods to strengthen community engagement and ways to adapt successful approaches across provincial systems to make social protection more responsive and sustainable.

The visit was organized by the Peace and Justice Network (PJN) as part of the Aawaz II Programme, which is managed by the British Council Pakistan and funded by the British High Commission in Pakistan. The programme supports the rights of children, women, youth and marginalized groups in both Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with PJN and OAKDF serving as provincial partners to foster interprovincial coordination and cross-learning.
