Strengthening Women’s Leadership in Pakistan’s Governance

UN Women Pakistan, in collaboration with the European Union in Pakistan and the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS), has conducted a two-day orientation programme aimed at strengthening women’s leadership in governance. The initiative focused on newly elected women and minority Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
More than 20 participants took part in the programme, which provided them with essential skills and knowledge to enhance their effectiveness as parliamentarians. The training covered strategies to promote inclusive legislation and ensure that the interests of all citizens are represented in governance.
By empowering women and minority legislators, the programme aims to foster a more equitable and gender-responsive political environment in Pakistan. The collaborative effort reflects an ongoing commitment to increasing diversity and leadership in legislative bodies across the country.
