Advancing STEAM Education in Sindh Schools

The STEAM Policy Unit in Sindh met with the Secretary of the School Education and Literacy Department to finalise decisions affecting STEAM education across post-primary schools. Discussions covered the 7th Stocktake of the STEAM Policy Unit, the issuance of appreciation letters and certificates for top-performing schools and districts, the introduction of performance-based incentives, and preparations for upcoming STEAM competitions.

The Secretary directed the policy unit to announce performance-based incentives for best-performing schools in the STEAM program and to highlight those schools on SE&LD social media channels. These measures aim to recognise excellence and motivate wider participation in STEAM education across Sindh.

The STEAM Policy Unit also briefed the Secretary on proposed training-related allocations under the CPD component of the STEAM budget. Emphasis was placed on ensuring that teacher professional development and school-level training resources align with the goals of the STEAM program and support sustained improvement in classroom practice.

Participants reviewed the timeline for STEAM Muqablo 2025-26, the provincial competition for post-primary schools, and discussed how incentives and recognition will be integrated with the event. The conversation focused on creating clear criteria for awards and ensuring that districts and schools receive timely communication about participation and judging.

Following the meeting, the STEAM Policy Unit will move forward to complete the 7th Stocktake, finalise the incentive framework, and coordinate the rollout of recognition certificates and social media features. The coordinated approach is intended to strengthen STEAM education outcomes and celebrate high-performing schools across Sindh.
