MNU delegation strengthens ties with Punjab University

The Maldives National University delegation conducted a historic visit to the University of the Punjab, marking a productive day of academic exchange and institutional engagement. The visit highlighted shared priorities in higher education and student development.

The MNU delegation held a detailed meeting with the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Khalid Mahmood, who provided an extensive overview of PU’s rich history, academic strengths, faculty achievements, and the range of degree programmes on offer. The presentation gave the MNU delegation clear insight into the university’s teaching and research priorities.

Following the discussion, the delegation, together with staff from the Higher Education Commission, joined PU colleagues for a collegial lunch that reinforced institutional rapport. The gathering was followed by an extensive tour of the campus, including visits to the central library, the historic Hailey College of Commerce, the University Club, and other key facilities that demonstrate PU’s academic infrastructure.

A valuable part of the visit was an interaction session where MNU students met and exchanged ideas with University of the Punjab students. The spirited conversations offered both groups the chance to compare academic experiences, discuss faculty-led initiatives, and explore opportunities for collaborative learning.

The MNU delegation’s visit underscored the importance of regional academic links and mutual learning. With engagement from HEC and active student participation, the exchange strengthened ties between institutions and set a positive tone for future cooperation and student-focused activities.
