City Boosts Sports with New Paddle Tennis Court
PHA Rawalpindi inaugurated a new paddle tennis court constructed beneath the Sixth Road flyover, a project aimed at expanding accessible sports facilities across the city. The facility was completed in a short timeframe under the special instructions of Director General PHA Ahmad Hassan Ranjha and features state-of-the-art turf designed for year-round play.
The opening ceremony was attended by special guest Ms. Tahira Aurangzeb, Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Hassan Waqar Cheema and Director General Ahmad Hassan Ranjha, alongside a large turnout of local dignitaries and residents. Attendees welcomed the paddle tennis court as a positive step toward promoting healthy, community-focused activities.
The new court includes dedicated car parking and modern lighting to support evening use, ensuring the paddle tennis facility is available to a wide range of users. Citizens praised PHA Rawalpindi for delivering a quality public space that encourages youth engagement and recreational sports close to home.
PHA Rawalpindi reiterated its commitment to enhancing the city not only through beautification but also by promoting sporting events, including cricket tournaments and other community programs. Officials said similar initiatives to expand sports infrastructure will be pursued in the future to provide more opportunities for the city’s youth and residents to stay active.
