Russian Delegation Visits FUUAST Islamabad to Explore Academic and Cultural Collaboration
A prominent delegation from Russia visited the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science & Technology (FUUAST) in Islamabad to discuss potential partnerships in academics and cultural exchange. The visit aims to strengthen educational ties and create opportunities for student and faculty collaboration between Pakistan and Russia.
Led by Mr. Ruslan Prokhorov, Director of the Russian Centre for Science and Culture and Vice Consul General of Russia in Karachi, the delegation included notable representatives such as Dr. Natalia Zhadvotes, Professor Roman Prozov from Ural State Pedagogical University, Cultural Attaché Gleb Shubin, and Russian language instructor Ms. Ekaterina. The group’s agenda focused on fostering future cooperation in several key areas.
During a meeting with Dr. Saba Bashir, Incharge of the Islamabad Campus at FUUAST, discussions centered on introducing Russian language classes at the university, launching student and faculty exchange programs, and facilitating access to Russian government scholarships for Pakistani students. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Faisal Jevaid, Head of the Department of International Relations and Mass Communication, along with Mr. Aleem Ch., Additional Registrar, both expressing enthusiasm for strengthening academic linkages with Russian institutions.
Following the discussions, the delegation conducted an awareness session for students titled “How to Get the Russian Government Scholarship.” The session offered important guidance on scholarship opportunities and studying in Russia, providing practical insights for students interested in pursuing educational exchanges.
This visit represents a significant step toward augmenting educational and cultural cooperation between Pakistan and Russia. It paves the way for future collaborative projects, including language programs, exchange initiatives, and scholarship opportunities, enhancing bilateral ties and academic opportunities for students and faculty alike.
