AFC visit strengthens Pakistan football cooperation

Pakistan Sports Board warmly received senior Asian Football Confederation leadership during an official AFC visit to Pakistan as State Guests of the Government of Pakistan.

Datuk Seri Windsor John, General Secretary of the AFC, arrived on November 3, followed by His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, President of the AFC and FIFA Senior Vice President, who arrived on November 4. The arrivals underline the significance of the AFC visit for Pakistan’s football community.

Both dignitaries were welcomed at the airport by Deputy Director General of the Pakistan Sports Board, Mr. Muhammad Shahid, alongside Mr. Syed Mohsen Gilani, President of the Pakistan Football Federation, and senior representatives from the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination. The meetings at arrival set the tone for discussions aimed at deepening collaboration.

The Pakistan Sports Board called the high-level engagement a milestone in fortifying football cooperation between Pakistan and the AFC, highlighting opportunities for technical support, development programs, and closer institutional ties. The AFC visit is expected to accelerate dialogue on initiatives that benefit players, officials and the broader football ecosystem in Pakistan.
