Catch SNU Screening in Karachi this November
The Portuguese feature film SNU, directed by Patrícia Sequeira, will be shown as part of the European Film Festival Pakistan 2025 on 16 November at the Karachi Film School. The screening takes place in the Main Hall from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, offering Karachi audiences a rare chance to see this intimate cinematic portrayal on the big screen.
SNU traces the life of Snu Abecassis, a visionary editor who helped shape post-revolutionary Portugal, and Francisco Sá Carneiro, a leading politician and founder of one of Portugal’s most significant parties. The film follows how their paths converge into a relationship set against a decisive period of social and political change, and the upcoming SNU screening highlights themes of courage, love, and transformation that resonate beyond Europe.
The event is presented by the Embassy of Portugal in Islamabad and Camões, I.P., in collaboration with the European Union Delegation to Pakistan and Olomopolo Media. This SNU screening is part of a wider cultural exchange at the European Film Festival Pakistan 2025, providing Pakistani filmgoers and students at Karachi Film School an opportunity to engage with contemporary Portuguese cinema and recent European history.
Karachi audiences interested in historical dramas, editorial and political narratives, or European film will find the session particularly relevant. The SNU screening promises both artistic storytelling and a window into a transformative era; attendees are encouraged to arrive early for seating in the Main Hall.
