Government Announces Two Medical Tribunal Appointments

The Law and Justice Division has issued an official notification approving the appointment of two technical members to the Medical Tribunal in Islamabad, with the Prime Minister exercising powers under Section 4(4) of the Medical Tribunal Act, 2020.

Dr. Muhammad Amjad and Mr. Minhaj us Siraj have been named as Member Technical (MP-II) and will serve three-year terms. Their tenure will commence from the date each assumes charge of the respective office.

The notification, signed on November 17 by Section Officer Ali Haider Chattha, has been forwarded to the Printing Corporation of Pakistan for inclusion in the Gazette of Pakistan. Copies of the notice were circulated to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of National Health Services, the Chairman of the Medical Tribunal, the Accountant General Pakistan Revenues, the Registrar of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the Registrar of the Medical Tribunal.

The appointments form part of a broader effort to reinforce the operational capacity of the Medical Tribunal, which is responsible for adjudicating professional and regulatory matters within Pakistan’s medical sector. Officials expect the new technical members to support more timely and informed decisions on matters affecting medical regulation and professional conduct.

By filling these technical roles, the government aims to strengthen oversight in Islamabad and across institutions that rely on the tribunal’s rulings, aligning with the objectives set out under the Medical Tribunal Act, 2020.
