Guides Craft Survival Gadgets at National Camp

At the 13th All Pakistan Camp organised by Pakistan Girl Guides Association National Headquarters, Guides entered a hands-on session designed to test creativity and resourcefulness. The challenge asked participants to construct workable solutions from limited materials, turning everyday items into practical survival gadgets.

The aim was survival with minimal resources, so emphasis stayed on improvisation, teamwork and quick decision-making. Guides worked in small groups to design simple tools and basic kits that could help in emergency situations, showcasing adaptability and practical problem solving.

The activity included collaboration with partners, with UNICEF Pakistan, WAGGGS and NDMA visible in event support and outreach. That backing underscored the camp’s focus on building youth resilience and community preparedness across Pakistan.

By centring activities on survival gadgets, organisers reinforced skills that are directly relevant to disaster readiness and local resilience. The exercise offered a practical platform for Guides to innovate, lead and apply learning in realistic scenarios.
