Alkhidmat Launches Immediate Sri Lanka Relief Effort
Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan held an emergency meeting in Lahore to respond to the devastating floods in Sri Lanka, where more than 123 people have died, nearly 130 remain missing and over 44,000 are displaced across Badulla, Nuwara Eliya and surrounding areas.
Under the leadership of Dr Hafeez ur Rehman, Alkhidmat announced an immediate relief consignment for Sri Lanka in coordination with NDMA and the Government of Pakistan. The relief will include tents and tarpaulins, medicines and clean water, food and blankets aimed at supporting families who have lost their homes and belongings.
Alkhidmat teams based in Lahore will also travel to Sri Lanka soon to assess needs on the ground and provide direct assistance, ensuring the planned relief supplies reach the hardest-hit communities. The organisation says the Sri Lanka relief effort will prioritise rapid distribution and coordination with local authorities.
In this moment of crisis Alkhidmat reaffirms its commitment to stand with the people of Sri Lanka, mobilising resources and personnel to help affected families recover and rebuild.
