Marie Stopes Pakistan Expands Preventive Healthcare Reach

Marie Stopes Pakistan participated in the Multi-Disciplinary Medical Conference 2026 at the Post Graduate Medical Institute, Peshawar, convened by the Pakistan Medical Association under the theme “In Prevention Lies Our Salvation”. The gathering united healthcare leaders, clinicians, students, pharmaceutical partners and civil society to deepen dialogue on preventive healthcare and collaborative action across the province.

At the event, Marie Stopes Pakistan staffed an informational stall presenting its comprehensive family planning and reproductive health services, with a spotlight on community-based outreach through the Roshni Model, SF initiatives and ANSA clinics. The Roshni Van drew sustained interest from attendees for its proven role in delivering essential services to rural and hard-to-reach communities, and visitors commended its practical contribution to extending care beyond clinic walls.

The Honorable Minister for Health, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and members of the Pakistan Medical Association visited the Marie Stopes Pakistan exhibit, underscoring the organisation’s sustained three-decade contribution to family planning and its humanitarian response during flood relief efforts in Swat and Buner. Conversations with senior officials highlighted the practical impact of integrated outreach models and the importance of preventive services in reducing pressure on tertiary care facilities.

Engagement at the conference produced concrete requests to expand medical camps into underserved districts, including Bannu, Lakki Marwat and South Waziristan, and opened avenues for partnership with local health authorities and civil society stakeholders. Representatives from Marie Stopes Pakistan and conference delegates agreed on follow-up collaboration to design targeted outreach that responds to district-specific needs.

Participation in the conference reinforced Marie Stopes Pakistan’s commitment to preventive healthcare, partnership building and widening access to quality reproductive health services for communities most in need, as the organisation continues to scale outreach models that bring care directly to underserved populations.
