Advancing Human Capital Management in Pakistan SMEs
A four-day workshop organised by the Asian Productivity Organization and Pakistan’s National Productivity Organization began in Karachi on 27 January 2026, focusing on Human Capital Management for small and medium enterprises. The programme, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Industries and Production, will run through 30 January and aims to deliver practical approaches for workforce development across Pakistan’s SME sector.
Mohammad Alamgir Choudhry, Chief Executive Officer of the National Productivity Organization, said human capital is an organisation’s primary asset and a key driver of sustainable productivity. He reiterated the NPO’s commitment to people-centred policies, leadership development and capacity building to strengthen SMEs nationwide.
Representing APO Tokyo, Program Officer Nobotsugu Miyama welcomed continued cooperation with Pakistan and emphasised that investing in human capital development is indispensable for sustained productivity growth across the Asia Pacific region. His remarks highlighted the regional importance of shared best practices in workforce development.
As guest of honour, Senior Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Saqib Fayyaz Magoon noted that a skilled, adaptable workforce aligned with contemporary business needs plays a central role in reinforcing SMEs and enhancing national competitiveness.
