Laplacette Secures Sudden Death Win for FG Polo

The 63rd Allied Bank National Open Polo Championship for the Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup delivered a dramatic finish at Lahore Polo Club as FG Polo edged BN Polo 7-6 after a sudden-death goal in the sixth chukker of extra time.

Argentine ace Raul Laplacette produced a masterclass, netting six goals to carry FG Polo through a tense encounter. His accurate hitting and tactical play under pressure proved decisive in the extra period, while Ahmed Ali Tiwana added the crucial supporting goal that completed FG Polo’s tally.

BN Polo competed fiercely, with Tito Ruiz Guinazu matching the intensity by scoring five goals and Lao Abelenda contributing one. The visitors pushed hard throughout regulation play and into extra time, but the sudden-death finish ultimately favoured FG Polo.

The match showcased fast-paced action and exceptional horsemanship, with both sides demonstrating strategic depth and high competitive standards that reflect the prestige of the National Open.
